Dance of the Peacock
Dance of the Peacock is a refined artwork created through raised wood marquetry and carving with fine detailing. It represents a harmonious combination of technical precision, artistic patience, and a deep appreciation for the natural forms, movement, and textures found in wood.
The artwork is composed of extremely small wooden elements, all individually cut using an ultra-fine German fret-saw blade, size 004, a blade thinner than a human hair. This entirely handmade and highly demanding process requires exceptional control and specialized craftsmanship and plays a fundamental role in achieving the final delicacy, harmony, and precision of the piece.
Approximately 500 individual pieces of natural wood have been carefully assembled to create this intricate composition. Its raised multi-layered structure creates depth, movement, and a sculptural presence, allowing the feathers, lines, and textures to appear almost alive beyond the surface.
Only natural woods with their own inherent colors have been used, including walnut, pear, jujube, barberry, maple, yew, pistachio, fig, and other valuable species. The rich palette does not come from artificial coloring but from the careful and intelligent selection of natural materials, giving the piece authenticity, warmth, and remarkable visual depth.
The surface is finished with three layers of Italian Bromax plant-based oil, preserving the natural texture, warmth, and beauty of the wood while helping protect the artwork against humidity and environmental influences.
